Microlab tappers, also known as signal samplers, operate similarly to directional couplers but without the directivity. Tappers have the benefit of easily realizable broad bandwidths, are virtually indestructible and generally are lower priced.
Catalogue tappers are frequently used in DAS, and are available in output splits from 2:1 to 1000:1 with either N or 7-16 mm DIN connectors.
